The Zimbabwe National Womens Rugby Sevens team is fondled christianed the Women’s Cheetahs. The Women Cheetahs are currently ranked fourth in Africa and competes in the regional tournaments and also international tournaments organized by Rugby Africa and World Rugby. The women’s Cheetahs team is the most successful brand for the women game and has grown in leaps and bounds with all the Rugby Administrative provinces actively taking part in their various provincial leagues. The Women Cheetahs Sevens team has taken part in the regional tournaments such as Middleburg Sevens in South Africa, the Lusaka Sevens in Zambia, Kwese Sevens In Zimbabwe and has performed very well. The women Cheetahs also take part in the Africa Cup and the Olympic qualifiers. In 2016 The team played in the repechage qualifiers in Ireland and in 2019 , the team took part in the Africa Cup/ Olympic qualifiers held in Tunisia.
The Women’s sevens league runs parallel to the Women’s Sables league as the game is growing and more attractive to the spectators because of its fast pace, entertaining thrills and spills.
